Nostr marketplaces have the most likely and defined path to profitability atm from what I can tell.
Profitable business activity, not grants funded by nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m , is necessary for Nostr’s success. What will THAT look like and what needs to happen to make it possible? Is it already possible?

nostr and the marketplace features. I sure hope that this has enough network effects to be unstoppable.
I used #openbazaar back in the day. Was super hopeful about it, even made one sale using it, but then the company sponsoring it went broke from outside pressure and it just stopped working and went away.
This looks different, as it does seem to be defined by the NIPs, standards agreed upon, instead of centralized funding and application hosting.
