Wasn’t around for colored coins, but I’ve heard of other “things” that will straight burn bitcoin and there’s no other way to get back to normal bitcoin so your stuck in whatever shitcoin land the burn “funds”. You’re sort of doing this with liquid, to my understanding, but it can go back to BTC.

I have never used liquid .. it is a side chain like lightning to my understanding…
Idk if Lightning is a side chain. Seems more like a shared UTXO.
I don’t know much about that.. but I know they are still on the chain. That would mean the number of bitcoins would go down. And that doesn’t happen. The number of lost are lost because of access to them they are still there..
I like to imagine some random kid will randomly generate Satoshi’s keys well into the future.
A bitcoin will never end up on a shitcoin chain.
