Was living with some friends years back and the wife"s mom had dementia and lived with us. That's how I found out, then read more and its like a widespread use thing for the patients. Its also part of the reasoning people add MCTs tho their diet. Goes right to the brain as medium chain triglycerides are actually water soluable and crosses the blood/brain barrier very readily. And as I think I already said, animal fats fit the bill as well. Especially butter from something I came across some yrs back. And then there is the magical egg which has pretty much everything (and particularly choline). Its got what it takes to make a life so ya know that packs a punch
As for drinking, yea I would have to agree that helps a lot. I'll drink very occasionally and whenever I do, a bit muddled in the head the next day even without anything close to a hangover.
