Thinking about how the #us was among the last countries to adopt the notion of #bankruptcy mostly due to “moral concerns” America always having cultivated a peculiar set of ideas about debt. And so the idea that one could throw up one’s hands renege on all debts and at some stiff price start over seemed…evil.

But then we turn around and hand the highest profile position of power to a serial & strategic bankrupter. (even as we roll up the paths to more modest forms of bankruptcy for the poor)
