Jpgs are compressed to <1MB, png, gif, mp4 and mov have max limit of 16MB, uncompressed.
With an account you have no compression and only account limits. Nostr.build will never use ads.

Interesting! I was asking moreso because I think it's beneficial to find a middle ground where images aren't so compressed they lose quality, but not a situation where they're not compressed enough and use a ton of bandwidth for clients.
I think it’s around the 800k-1MB, specially for memes and shitposts, could be less. A lot of the art is png, and gifs don’t compress easily, so don’t compress those..
