PC Gamer is NGMI. The author clearly doesn't understand that Bitcoin mining is being singled out in claims here. Bitcoin mining facilities are no different than any other data center out there. It's all about where the electricity comes from and how it's generated. Bitcoin mining is one of the cleanest industries on the planet.

These journalists need to realize that nearly 60% of the energy used for Bitcoin mining in North America comes from renewable sources. That fact right there is incredible alone, but there's additional green or impressive feats too from flaring gas from oil wells, to using stranded energy, to balancing the electric grid. 🤙🏻

Plus, and this is a big plus, just because "something" uses energy doesn't mean that it's bad! If it was, we'd all stop using electric dryers and go back to using washboards, since electric dryers in the USA use more electricity than Bitcoin miners in the USA do.

#[2] roasting the climate scammers

🔥 🌋

It was a really terrible article. Like, so lazy I might have sprained my eyes from rolling them into the back of my head too quickly.

To summarize it "a guy held a carbon meter to a Bitcoin miner and no extra carbon came out so this guy says Bitcoin mining doesn't produce carbon is he serious???? I'm not sure how it that's how works? How does any of this work? Continue reading to avoid any further research"

So funny to me how an electric vehicle is green and so good for the planet, how we never hear about drying machines, but ENERGY USE BAD.

If you actually push the ideologies of climate activists or climate cultists or climate groupthinkers, they usually want us to return to the stone age but also for nothing to change in their own life. Their worldview cannot synchronize with reality because the magical bean powered world they want to live in can't exist.

They don't understand that a civilization progressing forward from here will be producing and utilizing energy at many factors greater than we are today.

Idk, anytime I hear anyone who talks about mining being a waste of energy, all I can think to say is

"Bitcoin mining is everything you don't understand about money combined with everything you don't understand about energy"

At the end of the day, any argument made against #Bitcoin is rooted in a belief that BTC is useless & thus a waste of energy.

Eventually they will have to pay a hard lesson for their ignorance when they're ultimately forced to buy Bitcoin at the price that they deserve.

It’s this opinion piece that is the joke. I remember when pc gamer stuck to what they knew, pc games. Maybe they should stick to that rather than lambaste one of the greatest technological achievements in human history. Bitcoin and it’s energy usage should be motivating the US to become more energy independent and encourage more green energy adoption. But let’s be real, we will still need dense sources of energy, and the densest and greenest we have currently is nuclear. To me, nuclear is the path forward until something better comes along. I’m no expert, but this seems very apparent to me.

I've given up on nocoiners. They have to learn about Bitcoin the hard way
