It attaches to cell-surface receptors, mimicking signals the cell normally accepts, similar to how a non-monetary transaction mimics a standard transaction to conform to consensus rules. Well… you all know what happens next when too many of these slip through!

The cell doesn’t question intent; it only follows rules, like the protocol. As nodes accept a transaction if it is valid, the cell accepts the virus if it appears legitimate.
