This is changing fast. More and more places are accepting bitcoin. I think the primary reason people don't accept it in their business is because they are afraid it may not cover the cost of goods and overhead. Once the raw materials producers and wholesalers accept in bitcoin and the economy can close the circle there'll be mass adoption.
Today, that transition lays in the hands of a brave few who are willing to accept it.
