When I use Nostur, it checks to see if I’ve lost follows and prompts me to restore them. I’m not exactly sure how that works, but it’s saved my ass a few times already.
I can’t seem to reproduce the issue consistently. When I looked at your profile just now (in Damus) it said ‘follow back’, as if I’m not following you. Then I went into plebstr and checked and it said ‘followed’. Came back to Damus and now it’s saying ‘unfollow’, seems back to normal. The issue seems intermittent.
I’ll try nostur again. But it didn’t seem to fix it last time I tried
I like the nostr:npub1plstrz6dhu8q4fq0e4rjpxe2fxe5x87y2w6xpm70gh9qh5tt66kqkgkx8j interface, but the first time I used it on iOS, I saw my follow count drop across the board (including on Damus) by around 75%. It happened again when I set it up on Android too. I was able to get my missing ~1800 follows back using Nostur on iOS. I’d love to see an explanation of this.

It restored 6 accounts I seemed to have lost. And in the notifications, on the very top it said that 77 people are now following me. So it seemed to have fixed something.
Then again back in damus, when I look at the list of accounts I follow, there’s still a handful that I’m not following lol 🤷🏾
I love the plebstr interface. Second favourite after Damus. Did you have any issues with the PWA ? Maybe I should stick to that for plebstr
I haven’t tried that one. I don’t see a real reason to.
I had tried it since they removed the note zaps on iOS plebstr. But unsure if it contributes to the issue. I think I’ll wait for future builds for now

I’m not sure what to do with the solutions he mentions. Maybe it’s for devs ? I’ll try and stick to Damus. If I want to try another client I’ll just create a new account to test it out
Hard to say. I didn't have this problem. I did have a profile problem, but it was completely solved by adding purplepag.es to the relay list.

Oh…wow! It seems Nostur totally fixed my problem. It seems I was too hasty the first time around. I just let it run longer, until all the notifications loaded. It said another 200+ accounts are now following me. Then I closed it checked damus and the list of people I follow seems to be fixed.

yeah that happened to me with the latest amethyst update. i think it was switching from fdroid to gp version. she just needs to plug her relays back in. annoying, but not a mystery. when your relays don't change, but following do, just a little, is the conundrum i'm facing

I was able to restore it by using Nostur afterward, but is there anything you can do to preserve follow count when users are switching #nostr clients?
