It's all a matter of perspective but not everyone is going to make it precisely because we are all different. Despite wanting to uplift people, the reality is that not everyone is meant for success or prosperity. Most people are just used to the pep talk positive bullshit when the truth is really what they need to accept.

What you speak of, I think in today's parlance they refer to as a "participation trophy".

That wasn't a thing when I was coming up.

But the collateral downstream effects of those behaviors have clearly been manifesting in today's society.

It's unfortunate that they started doing that with children. There's so much room and capacity for development and growth in kids that it's the right time for them to process the raw truth instead of sugarcoating it. It's quite sad.

Some of these children are now adults and they "can't handle the truths" be it professionally or in their personal relationships. Brutal truths or otherwise. But Γ§e la vie!
