Totally agree, but many are not willing to accept that LN works best for custodial wallets and there is nothing wrong with that.

There is everything wrong with that. Starting with the statement itself.

Lightning address is an example of that, but connectivity and liquidity management are also inconvenient for regular people using non-custodial wallets. LN is a great solution but its trade-offs make way more sense for custodial services.

Have you ever used Breez or Phoenix?

I've tried them but I didn't like the experience, many beginners also get confused about the opening of channels and fees associated with that. I currently use a custodial wallet for my pocket money and my own lightning routing node for my store that accepts bitcoin, those two setups have different trade-offs that fit each of my use case differently. I don't want to entrust my business funds to a third party but I also don't want to bother with node management for my pocket money.

Dunno... onboarded nocoiners with both and it went pretty smooth. Custodial services is the one red line I don't cross. But go with whatever works for you I guess.

Apart from Zaps on nostr maybe lol

Yeah, NWC is a good reason to make some exceptions 😅

It's always good to explore the whole design space, lets se what works on the long run
