Well it's a sad, sad day. I just came inside for a lunch break, looking forward to my midday coffee. Then I saw that my favorite mug is broken. My husband said the handle broke off while he was washing it, and he thinks he can glue it back on. But it will never be the same. I bought it at the farmers market, handmade by a local potter, so it was one of a kind. Sigh.

Sad day

I broke my old mug and used gorilla glue to repair the handle.

I now use it as a pen holder in my office.

I've glued handles back onto mugs with Bob's Industries cyanoacrylite, but it eventually loses hold if the mug is ever soaked for a long time.

Darn that is such a beautiful mug...maybe you could find a way to get the rest of the "handle" off and smooth it out, repaint it. Then it would still be very usable just maybe not for really hot beverages. Iced coffee would be great in it!

I understand how you feel. 🫂 When that happened to one of my favorite mugs, I used it as a paintbrush holder so it was still out where I could see it. Maybe a vase or pen holder for your mugs’s new life, if the glued handle doesn’t work out?
