Maybe, but KDE is currently more pushed to general public. Its DE in SteamOS, so it will be recognized by nonlinux users so it's better for adoption.

KDE was tested a long time ago and was a bit unstable. GNOME always worked even early on. I'll give it another try again in the future.

KDE is less resource hungry than gnome, on par with xfce, maybe be better. I quite liked LXDE and LXQT, both would be easy on the eye for windoz users.

Just thinking of resource use for a good experience on a mobile device.

I have the pinephone running phosh, which has a built in desktop mode.

Just ideas.
