Opening Taproot channels is an option in LND or not yet? I know I can generate a Taproot address in RTL, but if I use funds from a Taproot address to open a channel will it be a "Taproot channel" or just a regular channel?
That I do not know. All my channels are legacy. Once PTLCs come out this will also present a new channel type but I don't care.

How? Does Phoenix now support LNURL??
So it doesn’t actually work as a zapping wallet? I’m reading this as a recommendation to transfer sats to a self-custodial wallet over a certain amount.
you can *send* zaps, but not *receive* zaps from it.
but the most logical, least chaotic and efficient way, for me, was indeed to just use Phoenix as a way to send my zap sats to for saving on LN once your sats on a custodial wallet grows to a certain amount - yes
