She could see the pattern but could not place it. The texture was common, she felt it. Nothing else was coming to her. She tried to focus on the white ridges and canyons. Nothing.

Closing her eyes was easy, but opening them again took too much energy.

Silence. Too much of it.

The clothes around her tightened as she took a laborious breath.

Her ears, twitched as they started delivering their audio stream. The PA system was loud and the language was foreign.

As her senses slowly returned, she clung to the cool mat beneath her. The loud announcements continued throughout the tournament hall, but they were still lost on her as she began to pickup the sounds of the crowd.

What had happened?
