💧 Following up on your requests, we increased the timeout periods for the Liquidity Pool Credit Transactions to:

• 7 days for offer acceptance

• 14 days for opening channels

• 14 days for confirming channels

Reasons:

1. More time in opening channel state allows node operators to batch open multiple channels with one on-chain bitcoin transaction: https://lightningnetwork.plus/posts/456

2. In general on the Lightning Network any new channel opening must be confirmed within 2 weeks, thus the 14 days is in line with this requirement. This is also plenty of time to bump your transaction if needed:

Interesting. This reaffirms we have different customer bases since time is of the essence for merchant liquidity. Every minute of downtime could mean a lost customer.

Yes, you’re absolutely correct. The Pool is for long term and cost effective (mostly free) incoming capacity building. However Amboss Magma and Hydro is for immediate needs at a tiny cost.
