I want to do jiu jitsu but from everything I've gathered it's a question of when you will sustain a serious injury not if. Most guys seem to have multiple ongoing injuries they are monitoring or actively nursing.

always a risk tho tbf!

The key is to always never go beyond 70% during training and take as much arrest as needed between sessions. Conditioning and flexibility training can also prevent lots of unnecessary injuries. Also train with more experienced partners instead of with new white belts who just rely on their strengths
