i just had an idea for an actually useful thing to do with an AI that has been trained on a huge volume of scientific/engineering technology data:

create a map of the essential technologies and facilities required to maintain the use of - eg, diesel engine without critical electrical systems

eg. how to effectively preserve functioning computers and policies for maintaining data storage for a 50 year period while the technology returns after a sudden total loss of all electrical dependent infrastructure

these are very important questions to ask if we are looking down the barrel of a serious geomagnetic disaster
