Just discovered an account that posts literally every second. I thought it was a glitch when I tried scrolling it’s feed but couldn’t make any progress as the feed kept adjusting. It was literally just posting nonstop.

Clearly a spam bot. Each posts contains a 5-8 word phrase (pointless and devoid of context) followed by about 15 hashtags.

Utterly unrewarding to read. Seemingly no value.

I have questions…

Isn’t this spamming relays? There is some cost to data storage that relays incur, yes? Over time this cost adds up. In a decentralized and user driven relay network this is an attack on relays, no?

Also, why? What’s the end game for this account? How does someone benefit from or capitalize on this behavior? Honest question.
