Hey y’all, been thinking for a couple years about adopting a VPN but just haven’t done the research.
Looking at ExpressVPN which seems like the most popular choice. It accepts bitcoin which is a must for me.
Also, this led to looking at Proton Mail, which I’ve heard about before too but never dug too deep.
VPN and Proton Mail: good to do?
I use the ProtonVPN. Works well. I know there is a VPN service on Nostr offering service for sats too. It's called VPNstr

Accepts Bitcoin for payment
Can pay with lightning too through a plebs site. I'll share the link when I find it again

AirVPN is the only real one. Ignore the advice of anyone who recommends a different one. ExpressVPN and Mullvad have broken port forwarding to try to stop you from torrenting

Haven't heard of it so it doesn't have the same reputation for port forwarding support as AirVPN. You'd have to dig into it more to find out if it's a good option
One interesting thing about ExpressVPN and other top two (surfshark and nordvpn) is the RAM-only servers. So, as I understand, they can’t save your use data. Does Air have this? I’m looking at the website now. I love the ethos. I’ll look up broken port forwarding: I don’t know what that is.
