Toy price may be tanking, but that’s just a product of enshitification. A Lego set costs more than ever, there’s $999.99 Lego Death Stars for crying out loud. In 97, the biggest set was Pirate’s Pitfall and it retailed for $54.99! My parents said that set was too expensive, so we got the 19.99 set which was still a pretty cool Lego! This doesn’t even tell the true story, because for every person that buys the Lego Death Star, there’s thousands of people that can only afford silly putty from the $1.25 Tree. Even the dollar store doesn’t have dollar toys anymore, so the cheapest toys are up 25%, it’s just that’s all people can justify purchasing.
