I take no pleasure in talking about this. There are a few family friends, one in particular, who have gone through surgeries to fit their ideas of gender. It’s fascinating how there were similar things happening in Weimar, but it’s also tragic that so many young people have been taught this way of thinking.

The scariest thing for me is what will happen to these people in 10 years when we’re in the 30s and the culture swings the opposite direction. If we follow the Weimar path, we are set for a return to strong family values and an obsession with hierarchy and conformity in society.

I’m not sure how these people will adapt to that, and I know how many will perceive them. I want to believe that we can have a peaceful and positive resolution to this situation, but I have a lot of doubt.

They likely won’t be around to see it. It’s def crazy to see the parallels. They have to wait an average human lifecycle to do it so they can get away with it bc ppl forget and it’s lost in history. I take no pleasure in this either, it’s cruel. But the central planners don’t possess empathy, they view us as cattle.

Very true. The hardest thing I’ve had to come to terms with is that not everyone wants to see the world this way, and some of these cycles might be unbreakable to an extent.

Power starts in the mind, and 90% of people (myself included at times) are able to have their minds directed by others in a way which goes against their self interest. Bitcoin does fix this a bit, but only for those who choose to investigate it and really start thinking for themselves about what social structures are.

The best we can likely do is help people in our circle and try to lay a better foundation for the next go around.

I’m hopeful it will materialize more. The vibes are definitely here though. We have a long way to go, and eventually we’re going to have to do more leg work in the real world too.

I’m assuming you’re American? It’s in Americans blood. The only reason why Covid didn’t end in total tyranny already is bc of the US pushing back. Almost there, there is still some faith left in the credibility of the federal gov. But it’s eroding quickly as they keep printing money and gaslighting us about inflation. I have faith it will turn out okay, but yeah still a long way to go. More ppl have to get upset still

I am American. You’re right, it’s quite literally in the genes of Americans to distrust authority and strive to live individualistic and prosperous lives as free people.

That’s part of what’s so depressing about modern America - so many people who are unhealthy, both physically and mentally, and have lost their way. They don’t have this longing for freedom anymore because they have been made either financially or physically dependent on the state.

If I’m correct, only about 1/3rd of colonists said they supported revolution against Britain at the time of the war. If we can achieve a critical mass somewhere along those numbers, we will succeed.

The intolerant minority will decide for the majority tho. Just need the right ppl on our team. We have the tools, free speech, the right the bear arms, and now bitcoin. Hopefully this samourai wallet case wakes up some big players and realize what is at stake. I really like beautyon’s take on it. Bitcoin is free speech.
