the techie urge to replace pop_Os with linux mint or garuda
Discussion
What was your experience with PopOS? I've been an Ubuntu/Mint user for a few years.
Archlinux!! It's worth it..
Tried it once or twice but never got used to it
I love it because it's the only desktop Linux for me that feels real (always the latest updates). It proved to me that when you run the latest code all together, that's when software thrives. When you encounter a bug, it is easy to work with the maintainers to fix it because they don't have to look at old code. #rollingrelease4evah
I did like how you to date it was but I broke it one too many ways
jus gotta read the archlinux 'news' hehe. Ya I hear ya tho, it bug creep happens to me on other distros more it seems, Ubuntu to this day, upgrading the release just doesn't work very well and bugs increase over time.
Also stoked to be using 100% pipewire and Wayland. New Linux tech, but not even that new, just good.
Kids refurbished dell laptop with Fedora has been great!
Yep. Kept it with my system76 laptop. I really like it. I've been on Linux since early Slackware and Debian days so I'm fine with almost any destro. PopOS dies update the core but yeah been a while on everything else. But most things are flat packs these days so no biggie.
Agreed, I'm just addicted to little UI updates 🤣
