My favorite pre-birthday texts are the ones I get from coffee shops where I made the mistake of giving them my phone number wishing me a happy birthday and not offering me a free coffee, like I guess I won't be coming back to your cheap-ass cafe again.

Why do coffee shops ask for phone numbers?

npubs are too long

Rewards programs or if you want a mobile receipt. Always a good idea to avoid.

To let you know which businesses don't deserve your money.

The worst is when the point-of-sale system starts to ID you by your credit card number and then, if you’ve ever given a phone or email to any merchant using that POS system, you get pinged after shopping SOMEWHERE ELSE to set up a rewards account….

You’ve opted-in somewhere, good luck!

😞

I rarely use cards. Take that POS POS! 😜

lol pos

Pubkey needs to give me a free beer on my birthday 🤠
