Hello, Guy. I recently thought something interesting about AI. I want to know your opinion.

I reached the conclusion that AI is sort of a generalized teacher and its objective is to boost human critical thinking. The theory is that AI can't think critically because is just retrieving, processing and spitting data, I don't know a lot about it.

But with the current condition of AI, I can tell it's pretty similar to a low range worker in the production chain with a rich pool of knowledge (because it's a lossy compression algorithm, like a mini internet, right?). If you think about it, the current form of AI is like a teacher whose comparative advantage is in giving knowledge and critical thinking to the future high level workers of society.

I say all this because I thought that if you make an AI help (for example) a programmer to get critical thinking, the programmer will then be able to make better programs (because logic and critical thinking are pivotal in making algorithms and all that stuff). If the programmer decides to enhance the AI/s by designing better algorithms for it/them, then the AI will be more powerful at inducing critical thinking again in the programmer, becoming all this interactions an infinite loop (AI inducing critical/programmer enhancing AI algorithms/AI inducing....)

So, what do you think about all this? I am by no means a programmer or an AI expert. I'm just a random guy seeing your podcast
