My fiancée mentioned home birth (we’re nowhere near this yet) and I have to admit it scares the shit out of me. I’m also skeptical of the healthcare system, but man… it would be great to hear more about this.

I have a handful of friends who have done homebirths without complications. Everyday folk.

There is a community out there for whom this is their norm.

If it helps, just remember humans have been giving birth in their homes for hundreds of thousands of years.. that's only changed in the last 75 or so.

Either way, you've got this 👍🏻

Homebirth was one of the best choices I ever made. We've been having babies for far longer than we've had hospitals! And keep in mind that a lot of the complications that come up in births happen because of the medicalization of birth.

However, it's worth mentioning that in all previous generations, we were outside most of time and were used to a much larger range of movements, including a ton of squatting. Mobility and certainly diet as well - probably factor into how easy it is for different women.
