The Salaah, our daily submission to Allah, answering to the call of Allaah, is founded on a structured set of actions and intentions, each symbolising unique facets of submission to the Him, Subhaanahu wa ta’aalaa.

Firstly, the Niyyah (intention) initiates the Salaah. It's the mental and spiritual preparation, acknowledging the Supreme One to whom you are about to submit. It is the compass directing the heart towards Allah. With no partners or associates.

Then comes the Qiyam (standing), representing our vigilance and readiness to obey Allah. As we stand erect, facing the Qiblah, it reminds us of the unity and equality in Islam, and how we all stand before Allah as His servants.

The Ruku (bowing) comes next, symbolising our humility before Allah. As we bow, we cast aside our ego, pride, and worldly concerns, acknowledging Allah's greatness.

Lastly, the Sujood (prostration) is the apex of our submission. In this act, we place our forehead, the symbol of honour and dignity, on the ground. It's the utmost surrender, indicating that we lower ourselves only before the One who is the Most High.

Thus, Salaah is not merely a ritual but a comprehensive act of submission, each pillar paving the way for a closer, more intimate relationship with Allah.
