For some reason in Seattle many of the pho places start with complimentary banh su kem, have you ever seen that? I love it.

Never tried these. Are they sweet? Looking a little like German Windbeutel / Windbags; there’s holes inside them which are filled with heavy cream. It tastest light and fluffy but goes directly into love handles.
Dumplings or small fried spring rolls are usually served as a starter here.
