Anyone committing to putting their entire fiat mining bonus into corn upon arrival?
Debating that versus snagging a acog+rmr then dumping rest into corn.

I got a Christmas bonus and put most into corn but we also paid off our most recent child and upgraded our roomba to save the wife more time.
Acogs and rmrs are high time preference, especially if you already have optics that work. 😉
Roomba is low time preference since it saves future time, and baby had to be paid for. I don't like debt. Just tell yourself, if you but more corn now and delay gratification of optics, you will be able to buy a lot more optics with that corn at a future date.

Still rocking irons on my recce, and for pew pews I am of the mentality to buy once cry once, but will hold off on the $1200 purchase for now, probs until next Black Friday
Next black Friday, you can skip the acog and go for an elcan 😉
Definitely buy once "crye" once is the best way to approach most things but especially gear. Your life might depend on it.

Elcan is what I ran during my navy time. Great optic. Although a bit bulky (at least the one I had )
So what justifies Elcan's being double what ACOG's cost? Better Glass clarity and eye relief?

Also didn’t have ACOGs. EO Techs with flippable 2x magnifier was the primary optic. Maybe our scar had an ACOG but I don’t recall any of the M4s running it.
Specter is also 1x/4x with add ons for rmrs or backup irons and the flip between the two magnifiers is flawless. Better everything. Acogs are not adjustable, you just get 4x which is why you need the rmr. Keep a lookout for used elcans and you can get one only a little more than an acog.
