Time will tell. 8 weeks of waiting.

I haven’t made mead In years. you’ve inspired me. Time to break out the old brew equipment. I use to do a purely raw honey brew, raw honey, water, yeast. Then whatever flavorings in the secondary ferment. If i remember correctly braggot was my favorite.

Give it a go. Mostly set and forget.

How many pounds of honey per 5 gallons?

One Gallon of Basic Mead:

3lbs Honey

2g yeast

Heat water to 100f, dissolve honey. Cool to 70f and add hydrated yeast

Ferment for 3 weeks. Rack and rest for 3 weeks. Bottle and sit for 2 weeks.
