The most retarded thing I've seen is people pretending Jimmy Kimmel was some kind of free thinking dissident, speaking truth to power who was silenced.

He was paid millions to lie, demonize and ridicule innocent people who didn't want to be injected with pharma conglomerate poison! He was the lowest form of "comedian", one who punched down and mocked actual dissenters on behalf of the regime.

His firing was not only long overdue, but the mildest of rebukes. Alex Jones was sued into oblivion, Donald Trump deplatformed and shot, Charlie Kirk murdered.

Kimmel is free to podcast, post on social media, advocate for withholding life-saving medical treatment from the unvaccinated from the street corner. The millions he received for doing regime-approved propaganda on publicly-owned airwaves is not being clawed back.

Sorry, I know it’s a lot of posts on Kimmel. But he is one of the public figures I MOST despised, and that’s saying a lot in my case. I need to just post through the schadenfreuede.

I feel you on Kimmel. Him and Colbert to a lesser extent really surprised me. Wasn't a particularly big fan of either, but felt like I sorta knew their character after seeing them for so long.

One question: when you say he received money, do you mean directly or a more vague advertising thing?

I mean directly, though nothing would surprise me.

Oh! Was unaware, but assumed he was cozy with pharma and possibly worse

"Freedom of speech, not freedom of reach", amirite?

Freedom of speech is for enemies.

no one infringed on his freedom of speech

I don't care about Jimmy Kimmel. I want the FCC abolished or permanently forbidden.

Can abolish most of the federal agencies

FCC should not have gotten involved, but that they did does not make me regret the result. Kimmel was a propagandist, not dissident comedian. He is free to speak on social media (a courtesy not offered by Kimmel and his ilk to people they canceled.) He and ABC did it over the public networks to the detriment of the public. What he said in this instance was NOT cancel-worthy IMO, but his act more generally should have been shit-canned long ago.

I don t watch much TV. I once saw Kimmel on the Man Show. It was lame, but I'm a free speech maxi. I don't want the government infringing on anyone's right to speech, especially people I don't like.

Agree with Ted Cruz the FCC shouldn’t have been the one threatening him, but the idea that the left will *now* use this power against dissenters is laughable. They *already* used it. There is no slippery slope because we already slid to the bottom of it. This is nothing compared to what they already did.

So I think we have to realize we’re in a different world now. I would draw the line at banning him from social media (as the left did to many they cancelled or debanking or any of that.) He is entitled to free speech.

But shitcanning this propagandist from the public airwaves was long overdue. It’s just the optics aren’t great because his offense wasn’t that egregious in this instance, and because the FCC got involved when the public outcry might have sufficed.

You have healthy observations on this.

I challenge you to not stoop to the level of the authoritarians.

The best thing that can happen is let the regime propagandist continue digging his own hole of lies. Sooner or later he is revealed.

I don't think it’s authoritarian to pull him off the air for doing propaganda. I do think the optics are less than ideal but justice > optics.
