Unpopular opinion: the real Satoshi would not be supportive of lighting or Cashu.

He just wouldn’t.

BTC was perfect the second it was released in the wild.

Unless you’re satoshi stfu

🤔🧐

I just listened to a podcast that brushed over a similar topic, being all the Bitcoin Improvement Proposals... the Podcaster was speaking about how we are taking a chance on "trusting" the person who wrote the BIP, ie backdoors and other nefarious coding possibilities.

Cobra effect.

The statement that Bitcoin was perfect the second it was released was never true, as acknowledged by Satoshi.

Satoshi had special code to do hot patches when problems happened and oversaw at least one critical bug. He also coordinated with others to find better ways to implement code and improve Bitcoin, and encouraged future maintenance of the code base.

When people say “Bitcoin was perfect from inception” they’re talking about the economics of it, not the technical implementation.

🧐excellent points. Hal would agree.

I hope if Satoshi were still around he would be proud of all the work others have done to continue his vision.

He has to be dead or can’t be human. I agree. If he’s still with us and just watching happily, I just can’t compute that in my head being a human being.

What if he's on Nostr right now and we just don't know it?

🤯👀🤔

Not so sure. And it wasn't perfect, it was perfect enough to start the bootstrap, which is something when the genie is out of the bottle, one cannot do again.
