Has anyone written a thoughtful piece about the nature of Bitcoin's supply cap?

I know it seems obvious that no majority would ever support a devaluation of their hard earned money, but there are some nuances I've been wondering about:

1. When a currency is devalued, it is usually reallocated to a specific cause unfairly.

2. Increasing a supply cap would not break the fairness of issuance designed for bitcoin where miners earn their rewards.

3. Many of us come for the number go up tech among other reasons, but many others will only use bitcoin because they need to; they'll depend on the censorship resistant and permissionless nature of bitcoin, but they may not care about an inflationary policy if there is an obvious utility issue being exacerbated by the supply cap.

I am but a mere pleb, but I wonder how long this cap is considered holy as humanity evolves into the future.

Any adjustment to the supply schedule would instantly kill #bitcoin.

It is the core tenant. Digital scarcity. We can build inflationary layers above if necessary (not necessary).
