I just use Debian. I didn't know you could be a Debian maximalist. I just didn't want to learn a bunch of different package managers and Debian was the easiest for me to understand. Is there some weird Debian stuff going on?

I don't think that would be stupid, no.
But it's even less stupid when network effect is so much more important like in the case of money and when we're competing against such huge adversaries. Bitcoin Maximalism is kinda stupid, every mass movement is necessarily stupid in some way, but it's not unreasonable, because the existence and legitimacy of shitcoins actively hurts Bitcoin in many ways.
However everything would be less stupid, and the arguments would be sounder, and the entire thing would work better if Bitcoin had drivechains and could scale properly. Maximalists would be happier and the non-scammy shitcoiners would be happier.
every altcoin comes from a broken promise that bitcoin used to make. you don't have to call them shit to make them die. it's a waste of energy and it just alienates people. all you have to do to kill altcoins is to scale bitcoin properly. throw lightning in the trash where it belongs.
