They are not super common but for a short period around the end of January, beginning of February some stores and bakeries will carry a type of donut called a Pączki. It’s heavier than the German Berliner and its origin is said to stem from households using up ingredients before fasting for lent. I try to limit sweets, but it’s a fun seasonal/cultural treat.
