Does anyone know if Blockstream jade had the ability to send out #bitcoin over lightning?

I'm 90% no, just bitcoin.

I think it uses liquid as opposed to lightning if not on the main chain.

I ask because I’d like to move from jade to strike on lightning. How would I be able to utilize liquid to do this? I’ve never used liquid before

Go to boltz.exchange . You can swap any pair between lightning liquid and on chain.

Interesting, I’ll have a look thank you. I’ve never done this

I'll be completely honest, I've received 2 Jades literally 2 days ago, so I'm still looking into the functionality of them so I'm not 100% sure myself either!

all youd have to do is send the btc from your jade to strike.

Right but that is onchain I am asking to send lightning

strike can receive either onchain or lightning. once strike receives the btc, you are now using a custodian and the btc can be sent from that custodian as either on chain or lightning.

Not Jade, you'd need a swap a swap service. Boltz is good you can also do the same with CoinOs, Cash app, Strike etc.

A dumb question, but would the transaction from jade to one of those swaps be on chain?

Send an on chain transaction from Jade/Green wallet to CoinOs. Once the Bitcoin is received, you can send the Bitcoin out of coinOs with lightning. Same with strike and cash app, but it's not as private because they're services that kyc.

The first transaction is on chain, the 2nd is lightning.
