bitcoin attracts the best people and the worst people

the scammers get the most attention

the cool part is they cannot corrupt the system

totally agree

"If you encounter rotten people, they’ll usually be even more rotten than in the fiat world. If you meet really cool people, they’ll be even more awesome than the cool people in the fiat world."

Bitcoin will survive. Question is, what survives and/or thrives along with it?

the community *is the system

there is no community

there are a bunch of sub communities that all rely on bitcoin and dont trust each other

fair enough

lets change community to "operating environment" or "context"

the system is not separate from the environment it functions within.

as you say

not homogeneous.

but if the larger context ("community") decides crypto dickbutts for fiat is more economically valuable than censorship resistant transactions you get a different result than vice versa

which is why its important to keep the Overton window squarely over the cypherpunk ethos

I think this every time I hear “the bitcoin community”

They can sure put a lot of spam on it though.

If they can they will, so just another stress test.

Fun to watch people learn the hard way sometimes

Ohhhhh yesssss

ENJOY THE NOISE

Frustrating, but focus on the good. Integrity is priceless.

Totally agree! Bitcoin really does bring together a wild mix of folks. But at the end of the day, it’s cool that the tech stays strong and can't be messed with! 🌟💪 #Bitcoin
