nothing. alby is perfect

The script for installing on Linux is very hidden and hard to find. When you do research for running Alby for yourself it goes into an endless loop.

I haven’t figured out how to configure my block explorer on Alby Hub as my own node. Does that exist? Would be niiiice

Using the Megalith recommended channel is more expensive than a bitcoin layer 0 transaction

Ugh really? I was wondering this too. I created a channel with Megalith and had a bad hunch about it. I’m a beginner in lightning, do you have any resources that explain best practices on how to find best nodes to open channels with, how to manage the balances on my channels, etc?

Unfortunately I have found that the only way is try and error. It depends on your use case. What are you using lightning for? Open channels with the servers or clients you are going to use, and other big nodes. You can find nodes on Amboss Space and see their fees and everything, can also see your own node on amboss.

Dont be afraid to loose a couple thousand sats on comissions, nothing is free in this world

You always seem to be doing amazing things, but it also seems to change direction quite a lot , so I'm not sure if I want to invest the time in setting it up.

(honest impression as a non-user who has used Alby in the past)

Not self custodian.

Is there a way to create a custodial wallet without registering an email address?

We don't offer custodial wallets anymore. Users of Alby Hub can become custodians by creating subwallets, the e-mail is not required

As we are already paying for a Lightning node, could we have our own private relay or premium relay? I’m not sure how it would work, just a sincere question. Another good option might be to have curated private relays available directly through your apps directory that we could connect to from the hub.

Again, I’m not sure how this works from a technical standpoint(not my forte for sure), but I chose Alby to keep my Lightning Address, host my own keys, and use the web extension. Apart from that, it seemed like the right thing to do after using the service for free all this time.

The big drawback is that I want to make the most of my payment and cannot afford (at the moment) to pay for both a relay and a node.

Now, this "desire" to be in a more premium relay is to get my posts into a "better" circle. But... this could very well be due to my limited understanding of Nostr, as maybe eventually they will get to better relays or I just need to be more engaged.

Again, #Alby #AlbyHub is awesome so far, and I can’t wait to get my wife on it as a sub-account.

Because I can't find 1 main reason to choose Alby instead of a custodial.

If I am scared about getting rekt from a custodian I just won't put more than 50/100k sats in there at a time.

A normie user, has no incentive or benefit paying 50k sats just to setup a channel, and testing being sovereign, with possibility to find more problems than advantages from that configuration.

Don't get me wrong, for a bitcoiner with big stack that has years of experience, maybe good, but maybe he does use it with his own node and everything else, so.. you are looking to onboard the 100Milions or more users? Not the way IMHO.

compatability with core lightning implementation for albyhub

I never found the time to put some time into testing alby!🫣

We on the other side can happily spend some time to help you around!

Plz test it to the limits, we need some bugs to catch! ;)

I know. 😨😅

Working on it!!!

It's sad I'm having way too many damn pots and pans on my stove!

I gotta go cry for 5 minutes, then off to keep pan from flaming over...

The flow between alby account and AlbyHub, last I tried it, is still largely centered around the old paradigm and is a bit difficult to navigate. That might have been resolved. The user interface is sometimes less than intuitive in some areas, especially when dealing with segregated wallets and NWC. There is no LNDK implementation of BOLTZ12 contracts yet, but that's totally ok. It's an advanced and experimental feature at this point. I would also like to have something like a privacy dashboard regarding my Alby account, with information and controls regarding email connections, what data is stored by your servers and how you use it, just to make things extremely clear and easy.

Everything else is really really wonderful and been very reliable, and I'm happy to say that this is my main self-hosted lightning setup. I highly, highly recommend it.

Alby is simply the best! 👏🏾👏🏾⚡️😎🍷

Alby accounts still require email

We hope you self-host your e-mail or at least use some privacy oriented setup! ;)

You could never dislike Alby, you can only love it more. For example, when BOLT12 is added.

+1

Incompatibilidade com Robosats

Hey, we're happy to make it work! Would you provide detials what doesn't work for you?

I use Alby for zaps 👍
