I don’t understand why there’s so much hostility towards X on Nostr. It’s supposed to be free of toxicity.

It is night/day from Twitter and I'm super bullish on it.
Maybe they somehow like having a central authority ruling over their content

Welcome to the bitcoin life. People don't want to face something that questions their underlying reality. Such as Elon is protecting me on twitter so why do I need something else. It breaks them to try to imagine that someone else could get in power or cave to outside influence.

I have friends in different groups. They don’t really like nostr.

I don’t think that they like the content or the people here. I like both so I’m trying to figure out where the disconnect is.
The most common complaint is not enough content. I assumed that was a factor. It has improved a bit since when I first got here. But it's still a strange environment for people not coming from bitcointwitter/telegram. Cos it still is kind of an offshoot, culture-wise.
Yeah that’s probably it. I wasn’t into it at first but just rode the wave. My feed changed as I followed more people.

I always talk about nostr. Haven't encountered any hostility, just indifference. They just don't think it's big enough.
