Just moved some sats from WoS into Phoenix and even though I had adequate inbound capacity for the payment Phoenix still took 3k sats and opened a new channel instead of using the existing channel. Not too happy about that.
Sounds like you had on the fly channel creation turned on.

But why wouldn’t it use the existing channel if it has adequate inbound?
I think when its on it will treat all incoming transactions as a channel creation. If its off, it tries to find a route and fails if it can't.
