Hey Derek, how do I get anybody to read anything that I put on this app? I know that it is not mainstream or even politically compatible with many people’s views on this app. But isn’t that supposed to be what this app is about?

You have to be your own algorithm and do the work. Freedom isn't easy.
My note to you seemed to have attracted more attention than I have had before. My algorithm: put up some posts, write to you to, attract attention. Thank you for your coattails.

It's why I shared it. I do my part and help to be part of your algorithm 🫂 Content discovery here isn't the greatest so we need to work together to share other people's content so that they can be discovered. We are all part of each other's discovery engine. We need to be social and not be spoon-fed content.
For now we're just getting back to basics, but in the future algorithms will be more helpful with this on Nostr. And don't worry, the algorithms that will be built here will mostly, if not 100% be open source and transparent. That's what everybody wants. We recognize the failures of previous systems and don't want to recreate it.

It's all about finding your people & letting them know you're here, too. If something resonates with you, maybe what you have to say will resonate with them as well. Be social where it feels right. Expect that people are still people, though. There is no easy hack to gaining a social reputation.
If you're not finding your people, then do your best to bring your people here. Everyone should have the opportunity to experience free association. You can create your own space within any part of the nostr ecosystem. If the app you are using feels as though you are being placed into a group that doesn't fit you, try another. Nostr isn't an app itself, it's a way to communicate that breaks down the walls that force every into the same room.
