Now I 100% could look this up myself but am taking the lazy route… Sorry.

How does it work with logging into accounts on a phone? My understanding is that you have to plug it in via USB, am I just completely wrong on that?

Depends on the model but the 5C NFC (best one for daily carry imo) can authenticate via direct plug or NFC.
