The news is super depressing and I don’t watch or pay much attention to the media. But it’s everywhere included on NOSTR.
Looking at my feed it is full of death, government control / corruption, war, issues with Core vs Knots, drugs vaccines, etc. I could go on and on.
How do we make Nostr a more positive place to connect?

Unfollow the people posting it. Follow those who post what you want to see.
I feel as though the people ( I'm one of them ) who post this content isn't doing it for malicious intent.. I'm doing it more so as information and or if people like or take interest in it than it brings value . I also am a believer as freedom of speech that if it's something that an individual doesn't like they have the ability to unfollow or just scroll past that content.
Now I also post positive vibes and posts as well to help validate my neutral standing on the overall balance of my posts ( feed ) yeah it's not perfect but I do my best to be mindful.

Completely agree with your POV and I did unfollow a few news feeds which will help. Just felt heavy on the negative posts as of late. Maybe it will change as the we hit new ATH.

Just connect with people individually and start a conversation, that’s how I do it.
I’ve never had a problem chatting it up with random folks IRL so I do the same here. There’s always gonna be negative crap floating around these days, but there are a lot of genuine folks here.
Plus you can just take a few days off of Nostr, I did it and nothing crazy happened in my absence.
