I feel the similar. While I’ve always been vigilant not to put anyone on a pedestal. I did appreciate the knowledge they turned me on to, and respected them. Now it seems they’ve noticed their own “popularity” and it’s gone to their heads. It’s a shame.
Yeah I feel you there. I can’t help but notice it’s the same people who argue Sats should be renamed Bitcoin too. It feels very shitcoin-behavior.

They will run a bunch of cloud nodes and duplicates and claim v30 is a success. It’s disgusting but this whole thing really helped me learn “don’t trust verify” and “slay your heroes”
No Bitcoin dev should get a PR merged until they have become a historian to the extent that they understand the fate of empires that broke their money and the human psychology that fed the demise. They need to understand that they are the stewards of the best opportunity humanity has ever had for hard money that can survive across generations. This is not to be taken lightly. They need to think in terms of centuries. It’s longer your little software project that you get to fiddle with. It’s been adopted by people for their families and for future generations.
Now, if they mess it up, which is easier than they think, they’re no better than the kings, emperors, and senates that took down their empires from within by undermining the money of the people. This is ours to lose at this point. We should see this as an attack, and they will come in all forms. Maybe this one is not orchestrated, and maybe it’s not with malice. But those with long vision and low time preference need to call it what it is.
Well said, threats either direct or as a consequence of well intentioned action must be taken seriously. I also feel this is our one shot at freedom from monetary enslavement.

Thanks for the thoughtful post. I’m not technical enough to fully understand the debate, but as a middle-aged dad I’m thinking in decades and generariona. When I was in my 20s and early 30s I wasn’t. That’s an important part of this debate, IMHO.

Maybe this misunderstanding will force Satoshi out of hiding to help with a solution that will benefit every single individual. A solution exists. I feel it. I know it.
This drama is quite discouraging for the new bitcoiner. Lots of egos interacting with each other with so much disharmony. All the core devs needs to settle into their heart and look at the bigger picture, work with all voices regarding the maintenance and development of our 'lifeboat' before the impending collapse of our current system of enslavement.
Bitcoin, without a doubt, represents the complete salvation of Humanity.
