Say, I invented a new way of doing payments. Nothing complicated, just never tried before. But this business model is not covered by any existing “crypto” license.
Do I just do it? Or do I ask for permission to do it, likely getting a “no” or risking years of delays waiting for a “yes, but with these numerous conditions”?

He also used to say that it is far better to ask for forgiveness than for permission...
Common law says--and I personally believe--that governments and bureaucrats have no legitimate authority over us. As long as we're not harming someone else, we should be absolutely free to do any good thing.
