Is this still a thing? I had some friends visit the place like a decade ago, but it was mostly just sightseeing for them.

I didnt found a post that this stopped...

Yes - there are permanent settlers now, and a wedding just two days ago

If you're not an EU resident you'll get some hassle from Croatian police, but otherwise they're letting people through

Very interesting!

Is this nice for holidays?

if you like nature, and adventure, yes

the area has had permanent settlers since august, however they have faced harrassment from croatian police - eg, id checks in the middle of the night, one physical attack (against a croatian citizen), and weird stuff like emptying the toilet of the police boat just upstream whilst settlers are washing in the river

despite the actions of some individual coppers, the majority of police checks are actually quite friendly.

The Liberland community is surely in need of more help as they move into winter, so if you're handy with outdoor stuff and self sufficiency, definitely pay them a visit!

Wow I guess I should do a visit in summer, perhaps a short visit while holydaying in croatia
