My wife and I couldn't fathom fostering as we've known and helped foster families in the past who grew attached and then had to give the child back to a parent who still had abuse/drug problems. It wouldn't take long before I'd be facing a life sentence. However, a pastor had some encouraging words that didn't make logical sense to me, but turned out to be what I needed to hear to get me over that obstacle. Weird how God reaches a conflicted brain, like gently pulling a tangled ball of string to have the mess unravel perfectly and unexpectedly.

Night away from the kids and I find myself thinking about what I tell them every night before bed. "Mommy loves you, daddy loves you, and Jesus loves you even more than that."
