1M+ sats?
Discussion
Why is that the sufficient number? And even if it is, that's a retarded minimum expectation if Bitcoin is going where people claim it is.
This isn't exactly disproving my point. Arbitrary hoops, guessing, and troubleshooting like this are exactly my point.
I know HOW to get things working eventually. I just don't WANT to. I have better stuff to do. So do most people. That is my entire point. Currently, this stuff is built for very few people and interactions like this only prove my point. 1M sats isn't all that much to me but it is to most people I'd guess.
Zeus very explicitly recommends a minimum of 100k sats.
I opened with 100k. I didn't have 1M in there, which is what you asked. That seems arbitrary.
I'm not putting 1M sats into what's clearly an experimental service.
Besides that, it sounds like self-custodial Lightning isn't for average people yet, which was my entire point.
Most people will use centralized products and I just don't see how that's much better philosophically than what we already have.
It should be easier to do these things in a self-custodial way IF we want mass adoption that doesn't just create massive KYC honeypots. I'm a pretty technical person and the shit has annoyed me to no end.
If you don't care about that then I was never talking to you.
I'm not saying it should all be ready. I'm just taking issue with the statement that we should all be spending Bitcoin to keep it from dying while most of the options for doing so still suck and would be a nightmare for businesses to maintain.
I was curious if you went with the 1M standard LN recommendation or what's recommended in Zeus as the *minimum*.
What size of payments were you trying to put through a 100k channel?
I was only zapping with it at the time. And paying for what I could using Lightning.
I opened with 100k. The actual amounts in there varied. I don't keep large amounts in my fiat wallet either. Most people have been educated to not pack hot wallets.
And I got the impression that they recommended 100k due to fees. It was never apparent that I needed to have 1M sats in there to avoid bugs. I'm not seeing your point here.
Either way, none of this is relevant to my original point except to further solidify exactly what my point was lol
So what amounts failed the zaps or the bigger amounts you used to purchase something with?
I'm not trying to argue with you, I'm trying to understand what failed for you - but you are intently vague on what your experience truly was.
No I'm not. I've posted notes and DMed the dev on issues I had in that wallet. You just want me to rehash all that here when I already said I don't care to. It's irrelevant to the point of the OP anyway. This wasn't about troubleshooting or focusing on particular options that were unstable for me.
I'm curious for my own needs not your ego, but then again you sound like a dumbcunt bish with your three paragraphs long rants that not only don't answer my question, but blatantly lie about there not being explicit instructions - like Zeus recommending 100k.
Goodbye.
