I am really trying to wrap my head around how all this works behind the scenes … curse my smooth brain! I really like this platform as another way of testing sat payment systems. I think safe and easy and not scary transactions is going to be the biggest hurdle to mass adoption of BTC. Appreciate the food for thought!

a cashu mint is just a lightning node, so it can accept lightning payments. But, people who use the mint are issued tokens (nuts) for their equivalent sats with the custodian. So, anyone can zap a cashu address (because it just goes to the lightning node), and you don't need to set up a wallet to get a token address. So any new person on nostr automatically has a cashu wallet and can receive payments right away.

Npub.cash is centralized though right? Was thinking relays become mints to keep funds decentralized... But there's risk there. Maybe clients just recommend a handful of respected mints

Oh! That was very concise, thank you!
