I think discoverability, search, and content variety play a big part in it too. Zaps are an awesome feature, but they only take you so far if the rest of the experience doesn’t meet expectations.

Agreed, i was just trying to compare it to the like button. By looking at these numbers, i think it’s pretty obvious at this point that this worthless dopamine button is useless
Pardon me Ser : but you’re leaving out the fact that a couple years ago this place was primarily filled with a bunch of #bitcoiners and #devs
While we agree on false dopamine I don’t know if force feeding others is the way since
1. #Bitcoin isn’t worldwide standard
2. 20K active users is low … right?
Is there a difference in retention between users with at least 1 zap sent and received vs no zaps?
Is there a correlation between user retention and zap count (instances of zaps, not amount of sats) to like count ratio?
I don’t know how you’d measure that. nostr.band is one of the only metrics tools we have here. nostr:npub1xdtducdnjerex88gkg2qk2atsdlqsyxqaag4h05jmcpyspqt30wscmntxy do you think there’s a way to answer this question?
I think such measurements are possible technically, but I don't have time for that. There is a dump of all nostr events a couple months old, if someone wants to make such research: https://dtan.xyz/e/nevent1qqspf7tn2cgadduepdr8q08z6x7cnsqfu78cwg23wz43d9kajpz6xxqpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzv9hxgtczyp3lucccm3v9s087z6qslpkap8schltk427zfgqgrn3g2menq5zw6qcyqqqq05cw34txu
